Relief Enterprise remembers a visionary leader whose commitment to creating opportunities for people with disabilities continues to inspire our mission every day.
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our founder, Clarence Williams, on February 21, 2025, at the age of 90.
For more than four decades, Mr. Williams dedicated his life to building organizations that created opportunities for others. Following 22 years of distinguished service in the United States Air Force, he pursued his dream of business ownership and founded several successful companies, including Relief Enterprise, Inc. His vision for Relief Enterprise was simple but powerful: to create meaningful careers and opportunities for talented individuals with disabilities through federal government contracts and military partnerships.
Under his leadership, Relief Enterprise grew into an organization that not only delivers exceptional custodial and support services but also empowers individuals with disabilities through meaningful employment. His belief that every person deserves the opportunity to succeed continues to guide everything we do.
Throughout his life, Mr. Williams was recognized for his leadership, service, and commitment to excellence. Among his many honors were SourceAmerica’s Performance Excellence in Government Contracting Award and the National Government Contractors Achievement Award, recognizing the impact of his work and dedication to expanding employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
Those who worked alongside Mr. Williams remember much more than his accomplishments. They remember his integrity, his generosity, his strong work ethic, and his willingness to lead by example. He believed in showing others how a job should be done, never asking someone to do work he wasn’t willing to do himself. His encouragement, wisdom, and memorable sayings became part of the culture that still defines Relief Enterprise today.
While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate an extraordinary life dedicated to service, family, community, and creating opportunities for others. His legacy lives on through the employees he mentored, the lives he changed, and the mission of helping people build independence, confidence, and lasting careers.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Williams family and express our sincere gratitude for sharing Mr. Williams with all of us. His influence will continue to shape Relief Enterprise for generations to come.
Thank you, Mr. Williams, for your leadership, your vision, and your unwavering belief in the potential of others. Every person whose life is changed through meaningful employment is part of the legacy you began.
